Durham's Water Putty

Pour out the amount you need and mix with a small amount of water. Works great with wood and plastic. You can sand it and then paint right over it. Harder than the original surface. This can be found at Lowes or Home Depot.

Concrete patch great for any small concrete repair that needs to be made. This can be found at Lowes.

liquid concret patch

Liquid concrete patch makes small concrete repairs easy. Using the premix in the bottle with the nozzle, you are able to better direct the flow right to the spot you need it. Make sure to clean out the lid each time and put the cap back on if you are not going to use it all in one go around. This product can be found at Lowes or Home Depot for about the same price.

Dry Dex

Dap comes in a tube like this that is great for nail hole repairs. Dry Dex goes on pink and dries to white which lets you know it is ready to sand and paint. This can be found at Lowes or Home Depot.

Elasto Patch

Elasto patch is for patching an area that might have a recurring crack caused by expansion and retraction. In Florida, the heat and humidity add a lot of challenges to patching some areas so using a wall patch that has the ability to give and take will help your repair hold. This can be found at Lowes.

Orange peel wall texture spray on

Orange peel wall texture comes in a spray on or a smooth on. I prefer the spray on that you can adjust. It takes some time to perfect the texture you are adding to the wall so practice on a piece of cardboard first. Also, make sure to have a drop cloth down. Sold at both Home Depot and Lowes.

Behr premium plus interior paint

We only use Behr paint when working on our rental, investment, and personal homes. We normally use satin on the walls and semi-gloss on the doors. This can be found at Home Depot.

Premix Adhesive and Grout in One

This is amazing to use for back splashes where you are good with the adhesive and the grout color being the same. It comes in multiple colors. This brand is only sold at Home Depot. I have used it in bathrooms, kitchens and laundry room areas and never had any issues. The clean up is easy. It is a great product. This can be found at Home Depot.

Premix Grout

This a a great product when you have small tile jobs to do and you do not want to mix large amounts of grout. It keeps the mess down and is resealable. It comes in a few different colors. This can be found at Home Depot.

Lowes Premix Grout

This is another premixed grout product found at Lowes. It works very well and the clean up is very easy.

Foam Ceiling Tiles

I had a ceiling that had some issues and I wanted to try something different since I was doing a theme bathroom and these tiles did just the trick. They are easy to cut to size and east to mount.

Big Lots Paint Brush

These are the best paint brushes for the best price. We find these at Big Lots. They are easy to manage, angled, and clean up very well. If you know that you are going to be using the same color paint tomorrow, just put your brush and roller in a zip lock and stick them in the fridge. They will be moist and ready to go.

Self Stick Tiles

These self stick tiles were from Home Depot but you can find a variety at Lowes too. I used them to frame large plate glass mirrors that we had in our main home bathroom. When you do not want to remove the mirrors but want to update the look, these work great! Just keep trimming them to the size you need and match them up to create the rows.

Worth Home Instant Pendant Lights

If you have recessed lighting and would like to update the lighting without the cost of rewiring, try instant pendants. These screw into your existing light sockets creating the ability to have beautiful updated lighting in any room of the house.

Wine or Towel Rack

When you have a bathroom that does not offer a linen closet or another area large enough for towel, sometimes you have to get creative. This wine/towel rack came in black and I spray painted it with Krylon paint to match our color theme. It was the perfect fit for the tight area in the back bathroom and holds enough towels for guests. There are quite a few options on Amazon and in other stores now that list themselves as wine/towl racks now.

Utility Room Sink All In One kits

Another Home Depot product that came with the cabinet base, stainless sink and the side mount faucet with spray. The cabinet has a plastic type coating on it which repels the water which drips on it every now and then. The sink is deep and the faucet is high enough to get a bucket under. The set was simple to install and sits a little higher than a normal bathroom sink. The tiles on the wall are 12 inch X 12 inch sheets from Home Depot hung with the premix adhesive/grout. More Instant Pendant Lights

Just another example of the Instant Pendant lights. These are from a company called Worth Home Products. They also make amazing entry way Instant Pendants.

Two things in This Pic Light and Pantry Doors

Let's start with the pantry doors. I am not much for just plain when it comes to the older ventilated style pantry doors. I took them outside and used Krylon spray paint on them in a few different colors (make sure to keep the texture the same. Do not mix satin and semi gloss because it may bubble and peel.) I also added mermaid hand pulls to go with our ocean theme. The light is an LED light from Lowes. These are very easy to replace. It takes about 20 minutes and looks super nice. Home

New Toilets

When buying a new toilet, it is always important to think about water efficiency, but also think about trying to get one that at least sits chair height. Lowes offers a variety of choices and usually has some on sale.

Small Toilet Area, No Problem

Add a shelf from Home Depot and a basket or two to help in small bathroom situations.

Tarp Everything While You Work

Remeber to tarp everything while you work. We opted for cheap tarps and painters tape to keep down the dust when removing tile.

Mortar for Tiling

Make sure when you are selecting the mortar for your tiling jobs, you select the appropriate thing. For our wood look tile job, we had to buy the large tile format mortar because the tiles were larger. Also be sure to talk with a professional before purchasing your supplies. If you are going to tile the job yourself, there are several things you need to buy and you will need to make sure you prep the surface properly.

Tile and Grout Cleaner

This item could only be purchased at Lowes and solves a multitude of problems that can occur after grout installation. It may not say on the bottle what all it can clean so if you are seeing something with your grout, like white crystals appearing on top in spots as it dries, try this first. It will also clean really dirty grout. At $7.35 a bottle, it is worth a try before you start pouring acid on your floor. We had a horrbile experience with some grout and this saved the job. Light Weight Roll Down Window Shades

This is a Home Depot product that is not very expensive but looks fantastic up. They are simple to hang and clip the blinds into position.

Grout Renew

NOT A FAN! This is a Home Depot carried product and, yes you can paint your grout and yes, in a non-high traffic area this might hold up well but.....1. It is a pain to put on and keep off the tiles. I had to buy a few different things to try and resorted in using a paint brush. 2. It takes several coats to get it to match all over. 3.It is messy. 4. It is pricey. 5. If your dogs are in that area consistently, it will not hold up longer than a few months before you are painting it again.

RedGard Water Sealant

RedGard is a roll or paint on water barrier that you can put on a wall or floor or where ever you might need it. Our use was for two walls, corners, and seams before we had a slide in shower installed. This product is highly recommended by the plumbers we use. I will warn you to use it in a well ventilated area. The fumes are very strong.

Dreamline Shower

These are great for drop in showers. We changed a laundry room to a bathroom and this shower worked amazingly well. Carried by Lowes. We had to order the sized we needed.
